Weird Dreeemzz

i had one heckuva night of weird dreemzz....most of them spent back in Yuma, which, when one is conscious, let alone unconscious, can be a nightmare in itself!

there were some good parts of the technicolor drama.....at one point we were visiting some folks who were living in a house that was shown on House Hunters last nite... it was in Spain, but of course, my dream said it was Yuma.

so there vern and I were looking out of a glass-enclosed veranda as it poured down rain.........definitely a dream, as this happens maybe once every 5 years (rain) in Yuma...........after the rain, the sun came out and the huge yard was full of beautifully colored birds [a rainbow colored dove pecking at the ground, two multicolored (red, white, black) cardinals on the branch of a tree, woodchucks, squirrels, rabbits, deer]. the yard was wooded in some areas, and steeply sloped with rock swales in others (definitely not Yuma; except for the elevation when one rises onto the Yuma mesa, the town is flat as an ironing board).

after the rain, we were invited to sit thru some audition performances in the house by several novice comedians. i don't have a clue what that was all about, i just know one of them was pretending to talk to someone on the phone and was not very funny.

we left and went to get into my previous green volvo with the tan rag top. had to cross a golf course, and i was dodging active sprinklers as we walked....along the way, vern stopped at a small concession stand and was asking about train travel from Tucson to Yuma (huh???).

when we got to the car, i was pissed at him for asking and ran away from the car across the street to a neighborhood on the golf course. it was beautifully landscaped and had a huge rock-climbing wall which enthusiasts could scale. the wall made my fleeing impossible, so i returned to the car.

vern was seated on the passenger side in his orange jersey UT sweats (which i don't think fit him anymore) and we departed for Tucson.

i know i had another wild one, but can't remember it at the moment. i'll post it if it pops into my brain later. oh, and i'm not writing these down for anyone's amusement. since i was a teenager, i've liked to write down my wildest dreemmzz for my own introspection.

i leave on Monday for Denver training with the Institute for Indigenous Resource Mgt. Rachel, my student trainee, will accompany me. The class is going to present ideas about the Federal environmental impacts analysis process from the perspective of native Americans, including Alaskan and Hawaiian indigenous groups. Oughta be interesting. I previously attended one of their short courses on environmental justice issues. Because the presenters all represented minority and low-income populations, and were not WASPs or other doughy white folks, it was quite enlightening.

personal news: but not really, vern's pulmonary doctor left a voice message yesterday, asking for a return call. most likely about the results of his CT scan and the second sleep study that they scheduled.

uncle dickie called last nite to see if i sent him a package. yep, it was me, it was a 10 Commandments plaque, a belated birthday gift, and something he'd asked me previously to procure from him. i ordered it from christianbooks.com. he told me he'd gotten lost when going out to retrieve the newspaper from his driveway the night before. he wandered up to a cross street where a young girl who was out jogging went up to him and asked if he needed help. she said she recognized him from his sitting out front on a white chair with Max. she took him home and made sure he was safely inside. he told me it was "scarrrry". i told him to stop being so adventurous for a blind man.

adios mi peeps.

Dear Friend,
At last, I know someone who dreamz as weirdly as I do! I have been a lifelong 'dreamer' in technicolor (long before technicolor was invented by filmmakers). For me, a night without dreams is like a day without sunshine...dreary. Most days I can remember vividly what occurred the night before. Thanks for sharing yours.
Love,
Grammy
